IB World School

The International Baccalaureate Diploma is a challenging upper secondary education offered at Hasseris Gymnasium and IB World School to foreigners and Danes. If your ambition is to have an education with high academic standards, a challenging curriculum and an emphasis on international understanding, intercultural respect and critical thinking, an IB Diploma is probably what you are looking for.

“What IB teaches you is more than just knowledge. It’s a way of thinking and viewing the world around you” (Rasmus Greve, IB Hasseris Graduate 2012)

As the only school in Northern Jutland, Hasseris Gymnasium & IB World School offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, an academically challenging upper secondary education with final examinations which prepare students for further education and life beyond. The IB Diploma, as this exam is called, is developed by the the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), a non-profit educational organisation, which was founded in 1968 with the aim of developing intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. Currently, IB programmes for children and young people can be found in nearly 4600 schools in approximately 150 countries. At Hasseris Gymnasium & IB World School we have around 140 students from many different countries and with various cultural backgrounds. The IB Diploma Exam is recognized worldwide as a university admission exam, and in Denmark it is accepted for admission for further education on equal terms with hf, stx, hhx and htx. Read more about where an IB education can take you here.

The teaching language for IB is primarily English, and the curriculum differs in various ways from that of the Danish stx. Some of the students are attending the PreIB class, a preparatory class more or less similar to the Danish 1g, whereas the rest are students at the actual 2-year IB programme.

In this section of the homepage of Hasseris Gymnasium & World School you can read much more about the IB Department of this school. You are also welcome to contact Head of IB Department, IB coordinator Karin Mølgaard Skals on +45 96 32 71 29 for further questions.

“IB made me look at our world not just from another perspective, but from many different perspectives. IB helped me become a IB helped me become a world-citizen before anything else.” (Zhiawa Yonis – IB Hasseris Graduate 2013)
